The annual Black and Yellow Matches -- pitting the original two Racquet Up partner schools, Schulze Academy and MacDowell/IPA against one other -- took place Friday, June 10 and Saturday, June 11. On Friday, the B Team took to the NWAC courts to kick off the competition. With a flurry of great matches and hard-fought points, the IPA/UYA team came out on top, edging Schulze 8-6. The following morning, the courts were again buzzing with excitement and the "pop" of balls off the front wall. This, the 6th version of the A Team Black and Yellow Match, was the closest yet. Schulze raced ahead to an early lead with matches at the bottom of the ladder, but MacDowell/IPA stormed back working up the ladder. With the last matches complete, the crowd came to the realization: the match score was tied 10-10. When the game scores were counted, Schulze came out on top, 39-34. For the A Team, the series is now tied 3-3 and the rivalry will continue next June! Thanks to the students, players, parents, and coaches for coming and supporting the students during the tournament.
